Why Indigenous Trees?

Not all trees are equal. Exotic fast-growing species like eucalyptus and pine — widely planted in reforestation programs — actually degrade biodiversity and drain local water tables. They offer carbon sequestration but destroy the ecological communities that indigenous forests support.
